SYOSSET, N.Y.–It's probably a good thing for John Tavares that Matt Moulson is a late bloomer.

The two have come together this season to form a talented tandem that has them 1-2 in scoring for the New York Islanders, with the 26-year-old Moulson at 15 goals and 26 points and Tavares, 19, leading all rookies with 15 goals and 27 points heading into Tuesday night's games.

The pair has a history, too – dating all the way to the Oakville Hawks lacrosse team six years ago.
