DALLAS -- If Joe Nieuwendyk has one advantage over other general
managers in the NHL, it's real-life knowledge of many of the
players on the ice.
That's because it hasn't been that long since Nieuwendyk was one
of them.
Nieuwendyk, the new general manager of the Dallas Stars, has
plenty of work in front of him as he tries to rebuild the Stars
into the playoff team they have been for so many years.
