The debate is raging.

Martin Brodeur just became the winningest goaltender in NHL history and he is a mere three shutouts away from breaking that long-standing record as well.

But do those brilliant achievements make him the greatest goaltender the game has ever known?

That is the burning question on the minds of many hockey fans this week.

Brodeur has competition from many stars from many eras ... from players who may not have matched his numbers but were money when the game, the series or the season was on the line.

When Brodeur finally retires from this game in a few years, his numbers might be so unsurpassable that there will be no further debate, but as of today there is still plenty of room for argument.

Read ours as we present the top 10 NHL goalies of all time.

6. Ken Dryden
Dryden played only eight seasons with the Montreal Canadiens, but they were nothing short of spectacular. His career winning percentage is .790 (258-57-74) and he had a career GAA of 2.24. Dryden won six Stanley Cups in his eight seasons (he won 80 games in the post-season) and added five Vezina Trophies, one Calder Trophy and one Conn Smythe.
