Stars Align to Make RPI Cornell's Quarterfinal Opponent

ITHACA — It turns out Quinnipiac's reservations at The
Statler Hotel won't be needed after all.
The Bobcats hung on to win their first-round series in the ECAC
Hockey Championship playoffs, but a pair of upsets elsewhere mean
11th-seeded RPI will roll into town to oppose the Cornell men's
hockey team in the quarterfinals this weekend.
Only the most unlikely of scenarios would have earned the
Engineers another crack at the Big Red, but the stars aligned the
right way thanks to 12th-seeded Brown's shocking elimination of
fifth seed Harvard and 11th-seeded RPI's ousting of sixth seed
Dartmouth.
