Big Red's Transfer Rolling with the Punches

ITHACA — It's not every day a college hockey player goes
from a 10-goal junior season in which he served as alternate
captain to a frequent healthy scratch the following year, but that
was Derek Punches' world a few months ago.
But both his patience with Cornell and the Big Red's patience with
him are starting to pay off.
After playing in just three of Cornell's first 16 games, Punches
has not only found himself dressing for five of the last seven
contests, he's also seeing an increased role.
