One Cornell Goal Which Rewarded Several Efforts

There are goals, and then there are goals with a lot of layers to them. The latter was the case with Brendon Nash's power-play blast on Saturday against Union.

Cornell coach Mike Schafer benched Nash for Friday's win against Rensselear for a string of undisciplined penalties he's taken. The final straw was against Boston University on Nov. 28 when he was called for cross-checking in the closing minutes.

Just prior to the senior defenseman's tally on Saturday, Cornell nearly gave up its second short-handed goal in three games. But Big Red goalie Ben Scrivens came up with the save of the night on a one-one-one breakaway with Union's Mario Valery-Trabucco, who stole the puck at the far blue line.
