One Cornell Goal Which Rewarded Several Efforts

There are goals, and then there are goals with a lot of layers
to them. The latter was the case with Brendon Nash's power-play
blast on Saturday against Union.
Cornell coach Mike Schafer benched Nash for Friday's win against
Rensselear for a string of undisciplined penalties he's taken. The
final straw was against Boston University on Nov. 28 when he was
called for cross-checking in the closing minutes.
Just prior to the senior defenseman's tally on Saturday, Cornell
nearly gave up its second short-handed goal in three games. But Big
Red goalie Ben Scrivens came up with the save of the night on a
one-one-one breakaway with Union's Mario Valery-Trabucco, who stole
the puck at the far blue line.
