ITHACA - It was the seventh round of a shootout that, in the scheme of things, decided nothing. But considering the goal-scorer, the outcome became a little more profound.
Cornell senior Raymond Sawada wrapped a forehand around the outstretched leg of Clarkson goalie David Leggio to clinch the Big Red men's hockey team's win over the Golden Knights in the consolation game of the Florida College Classic on Saturday. And even though the game officially goes down in the record books as a tie, Sawada certainly didn't care.
"That felt really good," said Sawada, a co-captain. "At the time, I didn't know it really didn't count. But it was a good moral victory."
