McNamara Back in Form
The following article featuring Colgate defenseman Kevin McNamara appeared December 27 on the New England Hockey Journal (NEHJ) Web site.
By Dan Guttenplan
Kevin McNamara grew up on the outskirts of the Boston College campus in Chestnut Hill, Mass., the son of two former BC athletes.
His mother, Katie, was a three-time All-Big East tennis player. His father, John, was a hockey player at BC from 1982 to 1986 before playing professionally in the AHL and Sweden.
So naturally Kevin was the first of four siblings to commit to play college hockey somewhere other than BC. Kevin, a fifth-year senior captain at Colgate, blazed the trail for his brother Jack, a sophomore hockey player at Colgate. The youngest two McNamara siblings, Mike and Joey, will play together at Holy Cross next season.
