Binghamton Inks Sloane to Second Try-Out Contract
BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Binghamton Senators announced today that they have signed former Colgate defenseman David Sloane to a second professional try-out contract. Sloane inked an intial try-out agreement April 8.
Sloane, 26, spent the majority of the 2010-11 regular season with the B-Sens' ECHL affiliate Elmira Jackals where registered one assist and added 12 penalty minutes in 18 games.
The 6-4, 220-pound defenseman, as part of the first professional try-out contract, appeared in two games for the B-Sens. He amassed four penalty minutes and ended the season a minus-one.
Sloane appeared in 20 games last season with the Adirondack Phantoms garnering an assist along with 23 penalty minutes. Sloane also skated five games with the ECHL's Kalamazoo Wings in 2009-2010, registering two assists.
A native of Ambler, P.A., Sloane played four seasons (2005-09) at Colgate University, collecting 23 points (ten goals, 13 assists) in 129 career games for the Raiders.
