EMC Sports - Dan Fridgen never played hockey at the Nick Smith
Centre in Arnprior, but his NHL jersey hangs from the rafters of
Arena A.
The retired Hartford Whalers (which became the Carolina Hurricane)
player is a homegrown success with roots that remain in Arnprior.
And, if you ask the left-winger his secret to success he would
point to his family - specifically his parents Blanche and Raymond
Fridgen.
As one of seven children, Fridgen was described by some family
members as a bit hyper. As a youngster, he was taken to the outdoor
rinks his older brother David managed, 'to get rid of some
energy'.
