Harvard University’s Bright Center had a North Shore flavor to it last Friday night. They came to watch a Division 1 college hockey game between Harvard and Colgate, but specifically for those who ventured down 128 they were there for another reason — to see their favorite son from the land of malls play in the Boston area one last time as a collegiate athlete.

They are now looking forward to seeing Brian Day play as a pro soon, maybe as early as the end of March in the New York Islanders organization.

Day’s Colgate Raiders ended up losing to the Crimson, 6-2. But it was not quite so bad. Harvard scored two late empty net goals to account for the final against a team that’s rebuilding, but still trying with the ECAC playoffs coming up in a few weeks, according to Day.
