Colgate Lands 15 on All-Academic Team
ALBANY, N.Y. – Fifteen members of the Colgate’s
men’s hockey team were named to the 2009-10 ECAC Hockey
All-Academic team, it was recently announced by the league
office.
The team comprises of 181 student-athletes from 12 member
institutions. In total, 110 of the members are repeat performers,
while 54 of the student-athletes have the distinction of being
named to the team three consecutive years.
Francois Brisebois (Montreal, Que.), Brian Day (Danvers, Mass.),
David McIntyre (Pefferlaw, Ont.), and Wade Poplawski (Winnipeg,
Man.) are three-year members of the team, while Bryan Bessette
(Melrose, N.Y.), Sean Carty (Glen Ellyn, Ill.), Adam Corrin
(Winnipeg, Man.), Mark Nasca (Chagrin Falls, Ohio), and Jason
Williams (Plattsburgh, N.Y.) are repeat performers.
First time Raiders to achieve the academic recognition include
Kurtis Bartliff (Clinton, Ont.), Thomas Larkin (Cocquio Trevisago,
Italy), Austin Mayer (Providence, R.I.), Corbin McPherson (Folsom,
Calif.), Nathan Sinz (Anchorage, AK), and Austin Smith (Dallas,
Texas).
Players eligible for academic recognition must earn a cumulative
grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale or have a grade
point average of 3.0 or higher the previous three semesters.
