The second half of the ECAC Hockey schedule officially begins this weekend as Colgate will finish its regular season series with Clarkson and St. Lawrence, Friday and Saturday evening at Starr Rink. The Raiders, 9-9-5 overall and 6-4-1 in league play, come into the weekend in a three-way tie for sixth in the ECAC Hockey standings with Rensselaer and Harvard. Only four points separate first-place Union (17 points) and the three teams tied for sixth with 13 points. In the second half of the league season, seven out of the next 11 league games will be played in Hamilton and including these two games, six of the remaining 11 will be televised games. The Raiders are 2-0-1 in their last three games and that includes a 1-0-1 showing versus Robert Morris last weekend at Starr Rink.

MEET THE HEAD COACH
Don Vaughan is in his 17th year at the helm of the Colgate Raiders. The 1984 graduate of St. Lawrence enters the campaign as the program’s all-time winningest coach with a 278-262-64 mark. On February 16, 2008, he became the all-time winningest coach with his 252nd victory as Colgate blanked Union 8-0. On November 11, 2007, former Colgate President, Rebecca S. Chopp, announced the creation of the Donald F. Vaughan Endowed Coaching Chair for Men’s Hockey.

THESE DATES IN COLGATE HISTORY
Colgate has a combined 15-9-1 all-time record in games played on January 29 and 30th. The Raiders are 9-4 on the 29th and 6-5-1 the following evening.
