Steady Under Pressure

The following article featuring former Colgate standout Joey Mormina appeared in the November 28 issue of the Times Leader.

When Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins defenseman Joey Mormina steps onto the ice, he doesn’t play like a player with an uncertain future.

As he’s done throughout his six-year AHL career, Mormina continues to be as steady as they come on the blueline, using his lengthy reach to sweep away pucks and his size to keep opposing forwards out of his end of the ice.

But for the first time in his career, Mormina is playing with a burden on his back: he doesn’t know if he’ll be a Penguin by the end of the year.
