Cox Begins Professional Career in Alaska

ANCHORAGE, AK - The Alaska Aces have signed former Colgate forward Ethan Cox for the 2010-2011 season, Head Coach Brent Thompson announced Thursday. Cox will be entering his first pro season.

Cox, 23, enters the pro ranks after a four-year collegiate career at Colgate University. The two-way forward had 41 points (17g, 24a) in his time at Colgate. Last season Cox served co-captain of the squad as a senior. He was a picture of durability throughout college, not missing a single game in his last three seasons. Overall, the Richmond, British Columbia native played in 150 games for Colgate, finishing 7th on the all-time list. He also left an indelible mark with his strong play in his own zone. In his junior and senior year, Cox won Colgate's Best Defensive Player Award. The Aces now have 15 players under contract for the 2010-2011 season, with ten forwards, three defensemen, and two goaltenders.
