The NHL's Next Rich Peverley?
The following article featuring former Colgate standout Kyle Wilson appeared November 13 on the Hockey News Web site.

Back in January of 2009, Rich Peverley caught most poolies by surprise when he suddenly posted 35 points in 39 games. It’s early still, but there’s another player who hasn’t been getting the respect he deserves and may just be Peverley Part 2.
Kyle Wilson is a former college standout who was drafted 272nd
overall in 2004 by the Wild and later allowed to walk. The Capitals
snapped him up, but only to bolster their American League lineup in
Hershey. Peverley was also a college standout, but he was never
drafted. When Peverley was allowed to walk (he was waived in
January of 2009), the Thrashers picked him up. Since then, he has
been a steady second-liner, producing in that 55- to 60-point
range. That’s a fairly valuable number in a lot of fantasy
leagues.
Wilson was signed by Columbus in the summer to help their AHL
squad, but surprised everyone with a camp that was so impressive he
made the NHL roster. But even then, the 25-year-old wasn’t
being taken seriously. How else do you explain being a healthy
scratch for the first five games? He finally got back into the
lineup because the team was struggling to score. After two games of
getting his legs back, Wilson was put on a scoring line. He’s
posted seven points in eight games since. That gives him nine
points in 12 career NHL games, if you include his cup of coffee a
year ago in Washington.
