Wilson Will Get to Stay Awhile

Late last week, Blue Jackets coach Scott Arniel asked Derek MacKenzie and Kyle Wilson to come to his office down the hall from the dressing room. For players on two-way contracts, this is usually the first step toward a return to the minor leagues.

Instead, MacKenzie and Wilson heard the magic words for any player who has struggled to earn a spot in the NHL: "Get a place."

Both were told they could check out of their hotels and seek a more-permanent place to live in Columbus. If it's not a guarantee, it's at least a strong indication that the Blue Jackets want them here for the rest of the season.
