McIntyre Named Second-Team All-League
ALBANY, N.Y. - For the second consecutive season,
Colgate’s David McIntyre (Pefferlaw, Ont.) has received
postseason ECAC Hockey honors as the league office announced its
end of season awards, late Monday.
McIntyre, a 2008-09 first team honoree, was chosen as a second
team selection this time around by ECAC Hockey head coaches. The
senior was joined by fellow forwards Colin Greening (Cornell) and
Mario Valery-Trabucco (Union), defensemen Tom Dignard (Yale) and
Taylor Fedun (Princeton) as well as goalie Allen York (Rensselaer)
to comprise the second team.
McIntyre has posted 38 points (11 goals, 27 assists) in 33 games
this season for the Raiders. The co-captain’s 29 points in
ECAC Hockey games rank second among league skaters. As of March 2,
he was tied for 37th nationally in points per game (1.12) and was
tied for 15th with 0.79 assists per contest. McIntyre has tallied
at least one point in 24 of 33 outings and has 10 multi-point games
to his credit thus far.
Colgate, 15-13-6 overall and 12-8-2 in league play, clinched the
fourth seed in the upcoming ECAC Hockey Tournament that gets
underway this weekend. The Raiders gained a first round bye with a
3-2 victory over Rensselaer Friday evening and automatically
advanced to the quarterfinals, when it will host a best of three
series at Starr Rink, March 12-14. McIntyre will carry a streak of
seven consecutive games with at least a point into the opening game
of that series. During this recent stretch, he has posted two goals
and seven assists.
On November 6, 2009, he became the 48th Raider to reach the
100-point milestone with a season-high four-point evening as
Colgate rallied to defeat Harvard 5-4 in Hamilton. Since then, he
has climbed to 25th place in the program’s storied history
with 129 points, just five points from moving into 23rd.
