HAMILTON, N.Y. -- The Colgate men’s hockey team returns to
action as it travels to the North Country to play Clarkson
(7-13-4/5-6-1) and St. Lawrence (12-10-2/4-6-2), Friday and
Saturday evening. Both games start at 7 p.m.
The Raiders, 6-13-5 overall and 1-8-3 in ECAC Hockey action, enter
the weekend trying to snap a five-game winless skid. During this
stretch, Colgate has dropped two overtime contests to league
opponents. The Raiders tied a single season record set in 2002-03
and again in 2007-08 with their 10th overtime appearance of the
year versus Yale in their last outing. Colgate has gone into an
extra session in seven of its last 11 games.
Colgate’s offense is led by the dynamic pair of junior David
McIntyre (Pefferlaw, Ont.) and freshman Austin Smith (Dallas,
Texas) McIntyre leads the team in scoring (13-15-28) and ranks
second in ECAC Hockey in goals, while Smith (11-12-23) is among the
national leaders for points per game for a rookie.
