Cox a Finalist for Hockey Humanitarian Award
MINNEAPOLIS -- Colgate’s Ethan Cox (Richmond, B.C.) has been selected as a finalist for the Hockey Humanitarian Award, given annually "to college hockey's finest citizen." Cox is one of 10 finalists announced Friday.
The junior was a national finalist for the 2008 award. The honor
is presented to college hockey’s finest citizen. Both
men’s and women’s student-athletes, regardless of
Division, will be considered for the award. Last year’s
recipient was Will Bruce of Williams College. Cox is the only male
student-athlete representing ECAC Hockey.
Since coming to Colgate, Cox has been a vital part of the Hamilton
community when it comes to raising money for various charities,
especially around the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays with his
canned food and toy drives. Cox has raised over $12,000 in cash and
donated items and has helped other programs raise over $25,000 for
the American Cancer Society alone.
