Sloane Inks Deal with Phantoms
PHILADELPHIA – Colgate’s David Sloane (Ambler, Pa.)
has signed an amateur tryout agreement with the Philadelphia
Phantoms of the American Hockey League, it was announced by the
organization Tuesday.
It marks the third time in six days a former Raider defenseman has
been signed to an amateur tryout agreement by a team in the AHL.
Earlier, Nick St. Pierre (St. Etienne, Que.) joined the Syracuse
Crunch, while Jason Fredricks (Eagle River, Wisc.) signed with the
Providence Bruins.
Sloane, a native of the Philadelphia area, posted 10 goals, 13
assists and 100 penalty minutes in his 129-game career at Colgate.
He tallied one multi-point game for his career – a two-assist
performance versus Yale on November 11, 2007. Sloane scored his
final collegiate goal versus the Bulldogs on January 25, 2008.
During his career, he was a member of two Raider squads that
advanced to the semifinals of the ECAC Hockey League Tournament. As
a senior, he registered four assists in 35 games, including posting
a pair of helpers versus Union in three games.
