McIntyre Receives INCH Honor
HAMILTON, N.Y. - The postseason honors continue to roll in for Colgate's David McIntyre (Pefferlaw, Ont.) as Inside College Hockey released its All-American teams.
McIntyre was named a first team All-American along side goalie Brad Thiessen (Northeastern), defensemen Matt Gilroy (Boston U) and Jamie McBain (Wisconsin), as well as forwards Jacques Lamoureaux (Air Force) and Colin Wilson (Boston U).
The junior, who earlier was named a finalist for the 2009 Hobey Baker Memorial Award and garnered first team all-ECAC Hockey and all-College Hockey News honors, completed the 2008-09 season with the highest single-season point total since Andy McDonald in 1999-2000 with 21 goals and 22 assists in 37 games. His 13 goals against league competition ranked first among ECAC Hockey players. McIntyre posted five points in six of Colgate's overtime victories this season, including game winners against Rensselaer and Maine. Heading into this weekend's Frozen Four, he ranks tied for 14th nationally in goals per game (0.57 gpg) and tied for 15th in points per game (1.15 ppg). McIntyre posted 10 multi-point games, including four three-point outings on the year. His +19 on the year finished tied for second in the league.
Colgate finished the 2008-09 season with a 12-18-7 record. The Raiders broke the all-time national record for overtime appearances in a single season with 19 and will take a streak of seven consecutive overtime games into the 2009-10 campaign. Colgate's six overtime victories tied a national record for a single-season as well.
