McIntyre Named Preseason INCH All American

HAMILTON, N.Y. – After posting a sterling 2008-09 campaign, Colgate’s David McIntyre (Pefferlaw, Ont.) earned another honor as Inside College Hockey recently released its three pre-season All-American teams.

The senior was one of six named a first team All-American. McIntyre was joined by Air Force junior Jacques Lamoureux, Minnesota sophomore Jordan Schroeder, Notre Dame junior Ian Cole, North Dakota senior Chay Genoway, and Princeton senior Zane Kalemba. Earlier, he was named a pre-season all-ECAC Hockey selection both by coaches and league media members and broadcasters.

McIntyre posted 21 goals and 22 assists in 2008-09, which ranked among the national leaders. At the end of the year, he was not only named a first team all-conference performer, but also a first team AHCA/Reebok Men’s East University All-American. In addition, McIntyre was a first team All-American by Inside College Hockey and a member of the all-College Hockey News team. He was one of 10 finalists for the prestigious Hobey Baker Memorial Award.

McIntyre and the Raiders open the season Saturday evening as it hosts the University of Waterloo in an exhibition game beginning at 7 p.m. at Starr Rink. Colgate’s regular season opens on the road with a pair of back to back games the following weekend as it travels to face Niagara (Oct. 9) and RIT (Oct. 10).
