HAMILTON -- At times this winter, the strain of an up-and-down
season wore visibly on Colgate men's hockey coach Don
Vaughan.
So when the Raiders completed their improbable comeback against
top-seeded Clarkson in last weekend's ECAC quarterfinals, Vaughan
was undeniably pleased. But after back-to-back three-game series,
Vaughan would have been smiling regardless of the
outcome.
"There is such a fine line between winning and losing in this
league," said Vaughan, whose team's four playoff wins this year
have come by a combined total of five goals. "At the end of the
day, it comes down to the bounce of a puck. And because of that, my
message to the team would have been very similar if we hadn't won
last weekend.
"I'm so proud of our effort and the way the guys battled."
