Each year, 22 men's and women's college hockey players from around the nation are nominated for the Hockey Humanitarian Award in recognition of their leadership on and off the ice.
This year, two players who skate for Central New York schools - sophomore Ethan Cox of Division I Colgate University and junior Ryan Adler of Division III Hobart College - are among the eight finalists for the award.
Yale senior Kristin Savard was last year's recipient. Cornell's Sam Paolini won the award for the 2002-03 season.
