Colgate Supports Pink at the Rink
HAMILTON, N.Y. -- The Colgate men's hockey team is
supporting its female counterparts by participating in Pink at the
Rink during this weekend's games against Rensselaer and Union at
Starr Rink. The Raiders will wear the women's team's special pink
jerseys during warm-ups each night. The jerseys are being auctioned
off to the highest bidder on http://www.ecachockeycoachesvscancer.com/
until midnight on Feb. 17, to benefit the American Cancer
Society.
The Colgate women's hockey team wore the pink jerseys at last
weekend's home games against St. Lawrence and Clarkson. The men
will be wearing the same jerseys that the women wore. Fans
interested in obtaining a jersey should log on to http://www.ecachockeycoachesvscancer.com/
to place their bids. Bidding begins at $150, or fans can claim
their jersey of choice with the "buy it now" feature, which is set
at $250. After bidding ends, any jerseys that are unsold may be
purchased for $250 by calling (315) 228-7570. Fans can also bid on
the pink tie worn by head coach Don Vaughan during
the two weekends, including at Friday's game at St. Lawrence when
he earned his 250th career coaching victory.
Both games of this weekend's series begin at 7:00 p.m. Friday's
game against the Engineers will be televised live in Upstate New
York on Time Warner Sports, as well as on DirecTV on SportsNet New
York. Fans can purchase tickets to the games by calling (315)
228-7600.
