Colgate to Conduct Food Drive

HAMILTON, N.Y. -- Colgate's men's hockey team will collect non-perishable food items at its home games against Connecticut, Nov. 23-24, to benefit the Hamilton Food Cupboard.

"Our team is very excited to have the chance to partner with the Hamilton Food Cupboard for this event," said sophomore Ethan Cox (Richmond, B.C.), who is coordinating the drive. "Around the holidays, especially Thanksgiving, the shelves at local food cupboards can become very empty. We hope that this food drive can help the Hamilton Food Cupboard replenish their stores so they can continue to support local families this holiday season."

Fans who participate in the food drive will have a chance to win team-signed memorabilia. For every food item a fan donates, he or she will receive a raffle ticket and be entered into a drawing to win the grand prize. On Friday, the Raiders will give away a team-signed stick; Saturday's prize will be a team-signed jersey.

Both games against Connecticut are scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. For the series versus the Huskies, Colgate is offering a buy one, get one free promotion on all $6 tickets, including seats in "Raider Nation." Tickets may be purchased through the Colgate Ticket Office by calling (315) 228-7900.
