Checkers Call Back Beca
ESTERO, FL -- Florida Everblades President and General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Greg Poss announced Wednesday that former Clarkson forward Matt Beca has been recalled by the Charlotte checkers of the AHL.
Beca heads back to Charlotte just one day after being returned to the Blades from the Checkers on Tuesday. In his first stint with Charlotte, Beca went scoreless in one game played. Beca posted 20 points (9g, 11a) during the month of the December, while tied for the team lead in scoring with 28 points (10g, 18a). Last season the 5-10, 181-pound forward registered a 50 points season scoring 22 goals and 28 assists.
In 2010, the Mississauga, Ontario native appeared in five games with the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League scoring one goal, following his four years at Clarkson.
