Beca Puts Early Season Slump Behind

 — After emerging as one of the Florida Everblades’ top scoring threats over the second half of last season, a lot was expected out of forward Matt Beca this year.

But with a season-opening roster full of talented offensive players, Beca opened the year with a puzzling stretch that saw him record just seven points in the team’s first 19 games.

“Sometimes when you’re not getting good chances you start squeezing the stick too tight,” Beca said. “And that’s when nothing good really happens. Once you get into those funks you need a lucky bounce or something to finally break out.”
