Borowiecki Turns Heads at Sens Camp
The following article featuring former Clarkson standout Mark Borowiecki appeared September 28 on the Ottawa Sun Web site.
OTTAWA - One of the biggest surprises in Senators camp has been the play of Mark Borowiecki, the Kanata native selected in the fifth round of the 2008 draft.
He played last season at Clarkson, then elbowed his way into the starting six on Binghamton’s blue line during the B-Sens playoff run. Coach Paul MacLean calls him a “steadily improving player,” noting Borowiecki’s work ethic and the way he takes directions.
“Shows he has a real bright future with Ottawa Senators,” said MacLean. “Whether it starts this October, this November, this January or next October … I don’t know what the timeline is. He still has things to learn and ways to go. Whether or not he has outplayed enough players to start the season here, we’ll see. I think he will be here at some point.”
