Reid Extends Stay in Germany
EHC München announced Thursday that it has extended the contract of former Clarkson defenseman Dave Reid for the 2011-12 season.
A member of the Golden Knights from 1999-03, Reid recently completed his third season with EHC München. He appeared in 52 regular-season games, scoring three goals and adding 18 assists for 21 points.
EHC manager Christian Winkler is looking forward to continuing to work with Reid: "We know very well what we have in him. Last season he played well overall and we believe that he will remain an important building block for the team."
"I am delighted to be playing again next year for Munich. It gives me and my family with great pride. Last season as a team we made some important and positive steps forward. I am convinced that we can continue this great work and improve ourselves even further," said Reid.
The Brockville, Ontario native has appeared in 149 regular-season games during his three-year stint with EHC München. He has amassed 77 points, including 22 goals. In 27 playoff games, Reid has contributed two goals and 18 assists.
Reid competed in 50 regular-season contests in 2009-10, accumulating six goals and 19 assists. His assists total ranked tied for first among defenseman and his 25 points ranked third on the team among blueliners. In 12 playoff contests, Reid finished as the top scoring defender with 12 assists.
Reid's top offensive campaign with EHC München came
during his initial campaign with the team. In 47 regular-season
games, he scored 13 goals and assists on 18 tallies for 31 points.
Reid also compiled two goals and six assists in 13 postseason
games.
Prior to joining EHC München, Reid spent three seasons with
REV Bremerhaven (Germany). Competing with REV Bremerhaven, Reid
totaled 90 points, including 22 goals, in 154 games over the past
three seasons. He amassed 249 penalty minutes.
Reid compiled 54 points, including 11 goals, in 134 games at Clarkson.
After concluding his collegiate career with the Golden Knights, Reid played three seasons with Atlantic City of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL). He competed in 147 games with the Boardwalk Bullies, compiling 20 goals and 41 assists, and was plus-41 over three seasons.
