Grand Rapids Sends for Rufenach
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League (AHL) today recalled former Clarkson defenseman Bryan Rufenach from Toledo of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL).
Rufenach, 22, rejoins the Griffins after being signed by the team on Sept. 13 and assigned to Toledo on Oct. 5. A seventh-round selection (208th overall) of the Red Wings in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, Rufenach leads all ECHL defenseman with seven goals and is tied for the league lead with 11 points. He has recorded points in seven straight games for the Walleye while scoring goals in three of his last four outings. He recorded a four-goal game on Nov. 9 versus the Chicago Express.
