POTSDAM — The start of ECAC Hockey play has brought about a mini-slump for the Clarkson University men’s hockey team, which has gone 0-2-1 in its last three games and scored only two goals.
Clarkson (6-3-3 overall, 1-2-1 conference) won its first ECAC Hockey game, defeating Rensselaer 4-1 on Nov. 4. That was followed with a 3-1 loss to defending regular-season champion Union, followed by a 1-1 tie at Quinnipiac last Friday and a 3-0 loss to Princeton on Saturday.
“It brings attention to some things,” Clarkson coach Casey Jones said of the recent stretch. “It refocuses a team. We’re almost a third of the way through the season, so we’ve kind of reflected this week. It was our week we had circled on our calendar to see where we’re at and assess where we’re at. Obviously we’re in a little funk offensively here. It’s some guys finding a way with new positions and new linemates. We didn’t generate a lot last week.”
