POTSDAM — Expectations were high for Nick Tremblay when he joined the Clarkson University men’s hockey team in the fall of 2008.
Tremblay had been a dominant force for the Smiths Falls (Ontario) Bears the previous season, producing 51 goals and 59 assists in 57 games. He was named the Central Junior Hockey League’s Most Valuable Player and was selected in the sixth round of the National Hockey League draft by the Boston Bruins.
But Tremblay’s early years at Clarkson were difficult. He suffered with injuries and scored only four goals as a freshman and three as a sophomore.
