Blight Signs with Portland

PORTLAND, ME - The Portland Pirates of the American Hockey League announced today that they have signed former Clarkson standout Chris Blight to a tryout agreement.

The 28 year-old forward was playing for Reading in the ECHL where he ranked fourth among Royals skaters in points with 40 on 15 goals and 25 assists in 33 games.

The 6-foot Cambridge, Ontario native has played in 209 career ECHL games collecting 91 goals and 103 assists for 194 points over four seasons. Blight has appeared in 51 career AHL games, seeing action earlier this year with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, Worcester Sharks, and Hershey Bears while scoring his first career AHL goal with Bridgeport.

During the 2008-09 and 2009-10 seasons, Blight played in Europe with Ravensburg in the German Professional League and Nordsjaelland in Denmark.
