Rosen Selected by Islanders in NHL Draft
Cody Rosen became the latest Clarkson player selected in the National Hockey League Draft when he was chosen by the NY Islanders in the seventh round (185th pick overall) on Saturday in the entry draft held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
A 5-11, 180-pound goaltender from Kingston, ONT, Rosen, played 20 minutes in one game this past winter as a freshman for the Golden Knights. Prior to Clarkson, he played for the Kingston Voyaguers (OJHL), compiling a 14-3-1 record over 18 games with a 2.90 GAA during the 2008-09 campaign.
Entering his sophomore year this season, Rosen is one of seven Clarkson players who have been selected in the NHL Draft. Incoming freshman forward, Ben Sexton was a 2009 seventh-round pick (206) by the Boston Bruins.
