McNulty Garners Weekly Accolades

CHARLOTTE, NC - The Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) today announced former Clarkson goaltender Kyle McNulty of the Mississippi Surge has been named the SBK Player of the Week for December 13-19.

McNulty, who just signed with Mississippi on December 6, went 2-0 with a 1.50 goals-against average and .954 save percentage as Mississippi picked up a pair of road wins.

On Friday, the Wakefield, RI native stopped all 33 shots in leading the Surge to a 4-0 win over Pensacola. McNulty came back the next night and made 29 saves as Mississippi defeated Augusta 4-3.

Now in his fourth professional season, McNulty's best year came in 2008-09 with the New Mexico Scorpions of the Central Hockey League. In 23 games, he went 11-7-2 with a 2.82 goals-against average and a save percentage of .918. McNulty played collegiately at Clarkson University before turning professional.
