Team Notes: Clarkson Looks to Build Upon Momentum

Coming off its first weekend sweep in ECAC Hockey play this
season, the Clarkson University Hockey team will look to build upon
its newly found momentum when it takes to the road for the final
time during the regular season. Guided by seventh-year head coach
George Roll, associate coach Greg Drechsel and assistant coach
Chris Rogles ’93, the Golden Knights play at Brown in
Providence, RI on Friday at 7:00 p.m. and then battle
league-leader, fifth-ranked Yale on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. in New
Haven, CT.
Clarkson owns a 7-20-3 overall record and is in 12th-place in the
ECAC Hockey standings with a 3-13-2 league mark. With four games
remaining in the conference campaign, the Green and Gold can finish
anywhere from 9th to 12th in the standings, and will play on the
road in the postseason.
After a disappointing four-game road trip, Clarkson made a highly
successful home stand at Cheel Arena over the weekend with two big
wins, defeating Princeton, 4-3, and Quinnipiac, 4-1. The Knights
put together two productive offensive outings and received strong
goaltending from sophomore Paul Karpowich (Thunder Bay, ONT) to put
an end to a lengthy nine-game (0-8-1) winless stretch.
