Mitchell Tormented by Post-Concussion Syndrome

The following article featuring former Clarkson standout Willie Mitchell appeared in the May 14 issue of the Province.

This was not the jovial Willie Mitchell flashing his trademark Joker grin and carrying on like he didn't have a care in the world.

This was the hurt yet hopeful Willie Mitchell, who showed a range of emotion Thursday in expressing the pain and frustration of being sidelined since Jan. 16 after suffering the third concussion of his career.

His demeanour was dour in challenging the NHL to better police hits to the head. His eyes were heavy as he chronicled the darkest days of being disconnected from his livelihood. And his voice occasionally cracked of being robbed of a better quality of life.
