College Buds Together Again

ESTERO — When he was first told by Utah Grizzlies
officials that he’d been traded to the Florida Everblades in
December, Shea Guthrie was disappointed.
He’d been playing as good as any rookie in the league, and
was stunned by the team’s decision to let him go. But then he
quickly remembered that his friend and former Clarkson University
teammate Phil Paquet was playing for the Everblades, which turned
his disappointment into excitement.
“The night I got traded I called him right away and it was
pretty exciting for both of us,” Guthrie said. “All of
the guys from school pretty much keep in touch so it was nice to be
sort of reunited here in Florida.”
