How Paquet Got His Groove Back

ESTERO — During his college days at Clarkson, Florida Everblades defenseman Phil Paquet was known as a quiet but confident emotional leader and as the team’s captain. But when arrived in Florida as a rookie in 2009, he quickly realized that things were much different in the professional ranks.
As one of the youngest players on a team filled with veterans, Paquet had trouble getting on the ice and finding common interests with some of his older teammates.
“It was a whole different dynamic last year because here I was coming into a team, the second youngest guy, just trying to fit in,” Paquet said. “It was tough at first and it took me some time to find my way.”
