Conroy Not Ready to Retire

CALGARY — Craig Conroy could have played it safe by holding a lavish news conference to announce his retirement.
He could have saved himself the agony of trying out for a team he once captained. He could have avoided the possibility — and it’s a real one — of assignment to the minors after 14 years in the National Hockey League.
But Conroy believes he still has what it takes to contribute to the Calgary Flames. Just shy of his 39th birthday, Conroy believes he still has at least one more season left in him.
