When Randy Jones glances over at the opposing bench tonight, he knows he's looking at one of the top teams in the league.
So it's no surprise to Jones that the Los Angeles Kings sat atop the top of the Western Conference standings after the first month of the season. Jones should know after spending most of last season with the Kings, scoring five goals and adding 21 points in a season limited to 48 games after suffering a concussion.
"They didn't really make a whole lot of changes this summer, they added some depth with a few key guys, but they didn't need to make a lot of changes. They are a young team, a quick team, physical and they play their system to a T," Jones said. "I'm not surprised by the success they had, especially coming off the campaign they had last year. It will be good to see them, but hopefully it will be to see them lose (tonight)."
