Marchant Proud to Reach Milestone
The following article featuring former Clarkson standout Todd Marchant appeared March 23 on the National Hockey League Players Association (NHLPA) Web site.
Todd Marchant once figured that skating in one National Hockey
League game would be a dream come true. But over 1,000? Not even he
could have imagined that.
As a kid growing up in Buffalo, Marchant, who attended
Williamsville East High School, was no different than most young
hockey players when it came to his aspirations.
His excellent skating and skill at both ends of the ice eventually
led him to Clarkson University, where he would play two seasons
with the Golden Knights from 1991–1993. Marchant moved a big
step closer to the NHL when he was selected by the New York Rangers
in the 1993 NHL Entry Draft in the seventh round, 164th overall.
