Thunder Bay’s Paul Karpowich drew the praises of the St.
Louis Blues brass for a second-straight year during the National
Hockey League club‘s pro orientation camp for team draft
selections and prospects that wrapped up last week.
As part of the four-day event, Karpowich, who was drafted by the
Blues in the seventh round of last year‘s draft, and the
other goaltenders in camp spent a large portion of it on-ice
working with Blues goaltending coach and former NHLer Rick
Wamsley.
Off-ice training included fitness testing and conditioning along
with individual meetings with St. Louis management and Blues head
coach Andy Murray, who heaped praise upon Karpowich for his efforts
during his freshman year at Clarkson University as well as the
expectations the club has for the lanky puckstopper.
