Nowhere was it more evident that hockey is always in season than
at UBC's Winter Sports Centre on Monday.
About 100 metres from an event introducing Hockey Canada's new
Olympic jerseys, a handful of Vancouver Canucks players were taking
the ice for their first informal workout of the waning summer.
There were no goalies, just eight skaters and only four players
who were on the NHL club last season, but still enough to generate
an opinion about this season's wacky schedule that looks more like
a deep space mission — thanks to the 2010 Winter Olympics.
