When Willie Mitchell holds court, fresh batteries are a
must.
The Vancouver Canucks defenceman routinely racks up ready
recorders with long and passionate positions on virtually any
topic, as long as it doesn't concern his unsettled contract status
with the NHL club. When that occurs, Mitchell hits his own pause
button.
"You play long enough and that stuff plays out," Mitchell shrugged
Sunday after scoring once and logging 27:17 of ice time in a 4-3
shootout victory over the Dallas Stars at GM Place.
