Nose for the Net
The following article featuring former Clarkson standout Mark Green appeared in the July 13 issue of the Watertown Daily Times.
Simply put, Mark Green could score.
Born in Massena, but raised in Watertown, Green piled up goals at
every stop, establishing hockey scoring records in high school,
prep school, college and as a professional. During the 1994-95
season while playing professionally for Utica, Green scored a
staggering 71 goals in 71 games. He also added 56 assists.
That accomplishment broke the Colonial Hockey League record for
goals in a season. Green was a regular 50-goal scorer in the minor
leagues, playing for several teams. He was drafted by the Winnipeg
Jets in 1986 and also played in the Tampa Bay Lightning
organization.
