POTSDAM — If a team truly takes on the personality of its captain, then expect the Clarkson University men's hockey team to be hard-working, fight through obstacles and injuries and pull off the occasional surprise.

Junior Scott Freeman, a forward from Whitby, Ontario, will lead the Golden Knights on the ice this season and is the team's returning leading scorer, with six goals and 23 assists last year.

The last junior to be a captain for Clarkson was Nick Dodge, who led the squad to an ECAC Hockey Tournament title in his first season and a regular-season title the following year.
