Veteran center Todd Marchant never made any secret of his desire to remain with the Ducks, but he also wanted more than a one-year deal.

It took a while, but Marchant wound up with the best of both worlds Tuesday, signing a two-year contract that will pay him $1 million next season and $1.25 million in 2010-11.
